Top songs of the year so far

With half of 2016 already behind us, we thought it’s an ideal time to list out the songs that have rocked Bollywood in the last 6 months. Take a look and see for yourself if your favourite track of the year so far has made it our list.

Sanam Re

The title track of Sanam Re struck a chord with everyone as soon as it was released. Composed and written by Mithoon, the song is rendered beautifully by Arijit Singh. Shot in scenic locales, it features Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and Urvashi Rautela.

Yeh Fitoor Mera

Fitoor may have bombed at the box-office, but one can’t deny that the album was a winner all the way. One listen to Yeh Fitoor Mera and you’ll fall in love with it. Unsurprisingly, it’s Arijit Singh once again behind the mic and the music is composed by Amit Trivedi.

Kar Gayi Chull

No party is complete without this Kapoor & Sons track. This peppy number makes you put on your dancing shoes every time you hear it. A new version of Badshah’s ditty Chull, this one’s sung by Badshah, Fazilpuria, Sukriti Kakar and Neha Kakkar.

Jabra Fan

Capturing the emotions of every Shah Rukh Khan fan, this energetic number went on to become the anthem of Fan. Catchy tune, fun lyrics and to top it all, SRK dancing without a care in the world – what’s not to love about this song?

Gehra Ishq

This romantic song from Neerja is easily one of the best of the year. Sung by Shekhar Ravjiani, the track has a qawwali treatment to it, which is rather unusual for romantic songs. It is penned by Prasoon Joshi and composed by Vishal Khurana.

Salamat

Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar have woven magic in this Sarbjit number. Composed by Amaal Mallik and written by Rashmi Virag, the soulful melody, has romance written all over it.

Ji Huzoori

Sung and composed by Mithoon with Deepali Saathe taking charge of the female vocals, the highlight of this track are the poignant lyrics by Saeed Quadri. Before you know it, you’ll be listening to this Ki & Ka song on loop.
